My car will be at the Maxi Tuning Show in Santarem - Portugal days 9 and 10th of July. I will take some nice pictures to show on the blog. I need to do some stuff on the car to be ok to the show, I don’t know if I will have time.

Well I bought some new brakes on Ebay. Audi TT brake kit with zimmermann rotors. I should have they mounted on the car in the end of the month… Can’t wait…but have holidays first.

Well some of you may wonder if my car is having any kind of problem, since this major modifications. Well the answer is no. Well the is a minor oil leaking, I think from where the oil radiator is connected, but it was already fixed. Engine is almost 150 000km.

Long time without mods

Weel I don’t post here for a while, I’m waiting to finish some of the late moddifications. Those are the instalation of the 3 digital Beast Racing gauges. One of them burn, so I have to buy another one. I don’t have the sensors connected yet. I bought 2 analogic gauges, one until 2bar for the boost and another one for the oil pressure. These have a combination of white and red colour. With the engine off, the gauge face is black, when I start the engine it becomes iluminated.
I’m changing some of the interior leds to blue. I will post some pictures soon.

Choosing the right gauge is sometimes very dificult. I have to say, i’m not happy with my VDO Gauges. At night you hadly see something, and the boost gauge sometimes makes noise. I tryed some workaround, by there is allways some anoying noise. After looking around, I saw that a company in Brazil was making some black gauges with digital blue display. They have other colours, but I like that colour. I was alreading changing some interior led lights so this gauge will fit very well. I received the EGT gauge, the air temp and oil temp gauges last week. Here is a picture of them side by side.

New project

It’s not about selling the car! The car is running ok, no problems since the major upgrades. Just an oil leak that is solved. New mods are coming. A new set of gauges. The gauges are coming from Brazil. 3 Beast Racing digital blue temperature gauges, EGT, oil and intake air temp. I will write something when they are here.

But the new project I mentioned before is not about the car. It’s a new internet project. Checksumm.com is the name of my new site. Checksumm.com is a website about chiptuning. The propose is the information, discussion and exchange of experiences around the topic Chiptuning and everything related to it. It is mainly a web site for experience professionals, beginners, and also for the normal user that searches for chiptuning information. My goal is to have a strong community that helps each other and to have the best services to serve those users. The latest chiptuning news, a chiptuner directory, original files downloads database, etc.
The site was founded in December 2005. If you are interested in chiptuning, then bookmark this site and became a member of its community. I’m not a chiptuner. The ideia was suggested by a friend.

Power inprovement

Yesterday I spent the afternoon on the dyno. After the car has gone to the workshop, a new air intake, BMC CDA and new camshafts. As I mention before I had to chips, one delivering 221hp and other 236hp. The two programs were measure and the results were incredible. The first one to measure was the 236hp program. The dyno measured 251hp! The other chip was measure and showed 240hp. Then some improvment was made to the power curve, and finally it measured 242hp. You can take a look at the graph 242.7hp dyno
