clean style

September 29, 2005

My Racing TDI VW Golf is already as I like relating to engine mods. But this mods force me to change andcut part of the bumper. So that was the argument I needed to change the bumper. Clean German style. This time only the front bumper. I need to drive my car. I will pick up the car tomorrow and I will take some pictures. I already saw it, and its so sweet!!!

EGR information

The EGR system reduces emissions by directing a small quantity of exhaust gases backinto the intake manifold to dilute the air/fuel mixture efectively. An EGR cooler reduces the exhaust gas temperature by as much as 50ÂșC. This reduces the amount of oxides of nitrogen (NOx). The funcion of the EGR is managed by the ECU via the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid valve. The remove of the EGR valve also removes the Intake manifold change-over valve. This is a flap valve that closes for aproximately 3 seconds when the engine stops, blocking the air to the engine. This reduces the suddenness of the diesel engine shut-down. The valve re-opens when once the engine has stopped.

VW GOLF TDI

The Volkswagen Racing Cup season sped to a superb end at Snetterton yesterday (Sunday), with reigning champion Philip House claiming his second title and series newcomer Paul Taylor making a dream debut to win both Norfolk rounds.
Third place was disputed by the Bora of Berkshire’s Joe Fulbrook and 17-year-old Thackeray’s Exeter Diesels Golf TDI - a little too closely fought over as it transpired, for the pair clashed at Coram and again out of Russell on the seventh lap. The resulting damage forced Fulbrook from the race and delayed Hertfordshire driver Thackeray sufficiently to hand third on a plate to the TDI Golf of Cheltenham’s Lloyd Allard.
Allard was only just over a second behind House at the line, with Thackeray recovering sufficiently to hang on to fourth, a further eight seconds behind.

Congratulations to Allard for the first position in the diesel cars.
